The State Security Committee of the Republic of Belarus provides for the independence and territorial integrity of the Republic of Belarus, the protection of the constitutional order and the sovereignty of Belarus, as well as providing national security of the Republic of Belarus in the political, economic, military, scientific, technological, informational, social, demographic and environmental fields.
The main lines of activities of the State Security Committee of the Republic of Belarus are: the intelligence activities, carried out in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Belarus; counterintelligence activities focused on the detection and prevention of intelligence and other activities of special services, organizations of foreign governments and individuals aimed at causing harm to the national security of the Republic of Belarus, the prevention, detection and preclusion of terrorist and other extremist activities, the fight against organized crime and corruption, illegal migration, drug trafficking, as well as weapons, ammunition, nuclear materials and components. The jurisdiction of the State Security Committee of the Republic of Belarus also includes the organization of government and operational communications.
The activity of the State Security Committee of the Republic of Belarus is regulated by the Law of the Republic of Belarus «About of State Security Bodies of the Republic of Belarus».
